Cort Roberts

Horn

Hornist Cort Roberts enjoys a diverse life in music as a performer, educator, entrepreneur and academic. He is an alum of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect, class of 2020-23. An active freelancer in NYC, Cort plays frequently with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Princeton Symphony, The Knights, Brooklyn Orchestra, Riverside Symphony, New York Chamber Players, Chamber Orchestra of New York, and Lion King on Broadway, among many other ensembles/projects. In recent summers, he has been heard at Skaneateles Festival, Bravo! Vail Music Festival, and Rockport Music. Cort is the Horn Professor at Mahanaim School of Music, and he has been a guest faculty artist at the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia.

Cort is a member of The Brass Project, a sextet dedicated to commissioning new works for brass, with more than 45 new works commissioned to date. The group has shared this music at residencies in New York, Massachusetts, Texas, and Colorado.

Cort is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at Stony Brook University, and will finish in 2023. He completed his master’s degree at The Juilliard School in 2019. A Colorado native, Cort finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he also completed minors in Business and Leadership.
