Katherine Lerner Lee

Soprano

Katherine Lerner Lee enjoys a performance career spanning opera, art song, chamber and contemporary music. In 2023, Katherine premiered numerous works including Jon Deak’s Ingmar and the Bear with the 21st Century Consort and Juliana Hall’s Peace on Earth. She performed the orchestral premiere of John Musto’s Shadow of the Blues with The Orchestra Now and sang on the premiere recording of Susan Botti’s River Spirits, to be released in 2024.

As a recitalist, Katherine recently made her European debut in Arezzo, Italy, appeared with the Bard Music Festival and presented numerous programs in the Hudson Valley. She has sung as a soloist at the Fisher Center, Symphony Space, Carnegie Hall, and the Cleveland and Brooklyn Museums of Art. She was the 2021 Winner of the Bard Concerto Competition and was awarded Third Prize at the 2023 Altamura/Caruso International Vocal Competition. Upcoming engagements include performances with Opera Essentia as well as concerts in White Plains and at the Shandelee Music Festival.

A dedicated teacher, Katherine was recently appointed to the voice faculty at the University of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, in addition to her private studio. She holds degrees from Oberlin and Bard Conservatories.
