Antonello DiMatteo

Clarinet

Philadelphia-based musician, Antonello obtained both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees with highest honors from the Gaetano Braga Conservatory of Music in Teramo, Italy. After graduation, he moved to Philadelphia where he also earned an additional Master of Music Performance degree from Temple University. As an orchestral musician, Antonello has performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Ballet, and appeared as a soloist with the Orchestra Popolare Italiana, the Drexel University Wind Symphony and the East Coast Mandolin Orchestra. As an eclectic classical and world-music freelancer, Antonello has given numerous concerts across the globe--including the USA, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Greece, Malta, Iraq, and Libya--performing at world-renowned venues and music festivals. A true musical innovator, Antonello holds a patent in Electronic Italian Bagpipes from the Italian Department of Economic Development. Beyond his substantial accomplishments as a musician and performer, Antonello has also lectured across Europe and the United States, and currently holds a number of teaching positions, including his role as Clarinet Instructor at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Recently Antonello has been appointed Principal Clarinet of the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey.
